Navigating the intricate balance between preserving historical charm and meeting modern hospitality standards posed a significant challenge in the transformation of the original Grade II listed grammar school into a luxurious 70-bedroom, 5-star boutique hotel.
MAPUK played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between past and present. Our technical advice and tailored services were instrumental in ensuring the seamless integration of period features with modern mechanical systems, all while supporting the architect's and interior designer's shared vision.
One of the key challenges was maintaining the integrity of original elements, such as the timber wall panelling, without compromising the building's ventilation requirements. Our expert team provided bespoke solutions that respected the building's historical character while enhancing its functionality.
To achieve discreet and sympathetic ventilation, we specified a selection of Mini-Swirl diffusers and fine mesh Micro Blades. These were strategically installed to maintain the building's architectural integrity while delivering optimal airflow. The sleek, minimal design of these solutions complemented the historic aesthetic, ensuring a cohesive blend of tradition and modernity throughout the hotel.
In the guest bedrooms, we recommended the LDB12/8 high induction diffusers, designed to create an environment of maximum comfort and well-being.
